In a joint effort between the Health Office in Ma’rib Governorate, the National Center for Health Education and Media at the Ministry of Health, and the United Nations Child and Motherhood Organization (UNICEF), a health workshop was recently organized. The workshop aimed at engaging media professionals, influential figures, and public opinion leaders within the governorate, with the establishment of a dedicated network to advocate for public health issues.
During the workshop, focused discussions centered around countering vaccine misinformation and addressing safety concerns. The participants unanimously agreed to establish a branch of the health education and media center in Ma’rib, allowing the production of locally tailored information and awareness materials that align with the region’s cultural dynamics and address specific health challenges.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Abadi, the Director General of the Health Office in Ma’rib, expressed his commitment to implementing the workshop’s recommendations. He emphasized the importance of fostering partnerships with both official and civil institutions, as well as community leaders. Al-Abadi highlighted the urgency of collective efforts to propel the health sector forward, enhance services, and fortify the community’s defense against life-threatening diseases, with particular attention to safeguarding the wellbeing of children, women, and the elderly.
