The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has provided support to dozens of beekeepers in the south of Taiz governorate to enhance the production of Yemeni honey. Conflict factors and climate change have put Yemen’s honey production at risk, making this support critical for the livelihoods of local beekeepers.
According to a statement by the ICRC on Twitter, Yemen is one of the most famous countries for honey production. However, recent conflict events and sudden climatic changes threaten this productive activity.
The ICRC has supported a group of beekeepers in the areas of Al-Ma’afer and Al-Shamayatayn in Taiz to provide a permanent source of income and encourage the continuation of honey production in Yemen despite the conflict conditions.
