Khabar Khair (Only Good News)

Funded by the German Federal Foreign Office (AA) and in partnership with Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe (DKH) and the implementation of Yemen Family Care Association (YFCA), the rehabilitation project for the Fatima well, part of the Al Rawdah Water Project in Al Rawdah District, Shabwah Governorate, has been delivered.
During the project inauguration, the Director-General of Al-Rawdah, Aateq Sa’id bin Habtour, praised the role of the German Federal Foreign Office, DKH, and YFCA in providing infrastructure services to the community, particularly water projects. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the project’s sustainability to meet people’s water needs.
The project coordinator, Salem Al-Haj, and the project engineer, Jihad Balateef, provided detailed explanations of the project, which consists of a solar system comprising 128 panels with a capacity of 665 watts per panel, totaling 85,120 watts. It includes a 75-kilowatt inverter (power converter), construction of a transformer room, and the installation of a protective fence for the site. Additionally, it includes a meter and pressure gauge with all the necessary connections and cables for the system, which will produce approximately 400 cubic meters of fresh water daily.
The Director-General of the Rural Water Authority in Shabwah Governorate, Engineer Marwan Baroys, affirmed that the project will significantly enhance the operational efficiency of the Al Rawdah Water Project and meet their daily needs for clean and fresh water.
It is worth mentioning that the project contributes to improving the living standards and providing emergency support to the water and environmental sanitation sector by providing a clean and renewable source of fresh water, thus ending the suffering of citizens in the city.
