The Benevolence Coalition for Humanitarian Relief (BCHR) recently organized an introductory workshop for the Food Assistance for Assets (FFA) project in the governorates of Hadramout and Al-Jawf, in the city of Seiyun. The project is funded by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSRelief) and in partnership with the World Food Program (WFP).
At the opening of the workshop, Mr. Amer Al-Amiri, the Undersecretary of Hadhramout Governorate for the Affairs of the Valley and Desert Districts, emphasized the local authority’s commitment to supporting projects that improve livelihoods and alleviate the suffering of citizens, and rehabilitate community assets.
During the workshop, project manager Eng. Saleh Bamkhashab presented the project components and the assets that will be rehabilitated, with the participation of beneficiaries from local communities. The project includes the construction of water tanks, the establishment of water networks, and the reclamation of agricultural lands in Al-Soum and Al-Abr districts in Hadhramout Governorate, and Al-Jawf Governorate, with 1,000 direct beneficiaries. The workshop also discussed the criteria for selecting assets targeted for rehabilitation and the mechanism for registering beneficiaries according to the project criteria.
