With funding from King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), United Nations Women (UN Women) has launched a campaign to combat violence against women in Aden, under the slogan ” “Orange the World: End Violence against Women Now!” “, on the occasion of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign.

The campaign is being revived annually all over the world for 16 days until December 10, International Human Rights Day and will include many activities such as establishing a protection and health camp to provide services for women in remote and marginalized areas, in addition to the art gallery competition (Draw Your Dream). Moreover, 3 videos of 3 ideal women who have shown great resilience in overcoming their difficult circumstances will be shown.

For her part, the representative of the United Nations Women, Dina Zorba, stressed the importance of concerted efforts for mitigating violence, supporting Yemeni women, creating empowerment opportunities, and providing livelihoods, which is what this project is working on in Aden and Taiz.

Essam Wadi, Director of the Department of Associations, and Unions and Cooperatives in the Office of Social Affairs in Aden, praised the role of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) for its purposeful support in empowering women socially and ending violence against them by raising awareness at the social level.
