Khabar Khair (Only Good News)

UK Embassy’s economic recovery team, led by Mr. Alexander Petka, recently visited the Aden Container Terminal to discuss several issues related to the governorate’s economic recovery process.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by Eng. Abdulrab Al-Khallaki, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Aden Ports Development Company. During the meeting, the delegation discussed the most pressing challenges and difficulties facing merchants due to the closure of main roads, levies, and double customs collection. They also addressed issues related to entry permits for ships to the port and lists of goods prohibited from being imported.
The British delegation included Mrs. Victoria Claire James (senior economist), Ms. Laila Enaam (consultant in the economy and the private sector), and Ms. Natasha Bolger (research analyst). On the Yemeni side, Mr. Jamal Mohammed Abdurabbo (Senior Director of Operations Department), Mr. Halim Saeed Sabri (Director of Health, Safety and Environment Department), Mr. Alaa Makki (Deputy Director of Terminal Security), and a number of department officials and shift managers at the Aden Container Terminal were in attendance.
