    Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) along with United Arab Emirates (UAE) have contributed 5 billion and 133 million dollars in funding for the UN-approved Yemen Humanitarian Response Plan (YHRP) over the past six years, in addition to other funds through its own channels.

    According to the Financial Tracking Services website For Yemen Humanitarian Response Plan 2016-2021data, KSA has contributed 3 billion and 468 million dollars in funding of UN-approved Yemen Humanitarian Response Plan

One the other hand, during the same period UAE contributed one billion and 665 million dollars in funding of UN-approved Yemen Humanitarian Response Plan.

    According to Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) data, total funding for UN-approved Yemen Humanitarian Response Plan, from 2015 to the end of October 2021, by all donors, amounted to over14 billion dollars.

    According to United Nations data, the two Gulf states have contributed to 38 percent of UN-approved Yemen Humanitarian Response Plan‘s funding for 2016 to 2021.

    In addition to funding provided by KSA and UAE for UN’s activities in Yemen, the Emirates Red Crescent, King Salman Relief Center (KS relief) and the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) have implemented humanitarian and development projects in Yemen.

   According to the SDRPY data, since 2018 until July of the current year, 198 development projects and initiatives have been implemented by the program to support Yemeni people in seven various sectors including: health, education, energy, transport, water, agriculture, and fisheries, in addition to strengthening government institutions.

    According to (KS relief) Center’s statistics, 383 projects in different sectors outside UN-approved Yemen Humanitarian Response Plan have been implemented by the center over the past five years, at a total cost of $2.9 billion, covering all regions of Yemen.

    UAE has started earlier implementing humanitarian projects in various Yemeni regions affected by conflict and economic conditions. The Emirates Red Crescent implemented projects in other vital areas affected by war, especially the education, health, water, nutrition, shelter, and protection sectors.

    The Emirates Red Crescent’s activity also included cooperation with international organizations by signing bilateral agreements to implement humanitarian projects in Yemen.
