HUMAN ACCESS in Al-Mahra Governorate organized a training program on postpartum maternal care, targeting midwives at Sayhut General Hospital in Sayhut district, as part of the Reproductive Health Services Support Project, funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

The training was inaugurated in the presence of the Acting Secretary-General of the Local Council in Sayhut, Abdullah Awad, Dr. Mahmoud Haitham, the Central Supervisor at the Ministry of Health for the Expanded Immunization Program, the Director of the Health Office in the district, Saeed Mubarak, and other several local officials.

During the inauguration, the Acting Secretary-General of the Sayhut Local Council praised HUMAN ACCESS and UNFPA’s efforts in organizing such important training programs and contributing to improving reproductive health services in the district.

In the two-day training program, targeted midwives were taught how to care for the mothers after birth and provide them with healthcare as needed, ensuring that women have the best chance of survival and health, as well as improving basic healthcare, as part of Yemen’s humanitarian response effort.
