The German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development, through the German Development Bank, has provided funding for the rehabilitation of the fishing port and the development of the value chain in Aden.
The funding aims to meet the minimum requirements for reactivating the port, increasing productivity, and establishing an effective port management. The project aims to improve the economic situation of the population in Yemen, including access to food, and contribute to job creation.
It is worth mentioning that the project has three main outputs: rehabilitating the infrastructure and essential facilities of the fishing port in Aden and equipping them to ensure efficient operation, enhancing the administrative capacities for the efficient and sustainable operation of the port, and improving employment opportunities for women and youth in the fishing community and the value chain.
