At a cost of $274,466, the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) office in Yemen implemented the “Winter Package” project to meet the needs of 6,000 of the most vulnerable families in the governorates of Sana’a, Taiz, Ma’rib, Ibb, and Al-Dhale.
As part of the “Warm Winter 2023-2024, Humanity First…Their Hope is Warmth” campaign, the project included the distribution of winter supplies in two stages. The first stage included the distribution of 2,700 winter bags containing blankets and mattresses, while the second stage included the distribution of winter clothing to 3,300 children. Each piece of clothing includes a sweater, jacket, pants, socks, and a woolen scarf.
It is worth noting that the QRCS allocated 650 winter bags to a number of medical and social institutions, including Al- Amal Hospital for Psychiatric Medicine and Addiction Treatment in Sana’a.
