This agreement is part of the efforts provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through its humanitarian arm in Yemen, KSRelief, to support the water and environmental sanitation sector and alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people due to the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Muallem, Director of the Health and Environmental Aid Department at KSRelief, explained that eight new wells will be drilled, connected to solar energy systems, equipped with 5-meter-high tanks, in the project’s intervention areas in Hadhramout, Al Hodeidah, and Shabwah governorates to ensure access to water at all times. In addition, nine old wells in Hadhramout and Al Hodeidah will be rehabilitated, connected to solar energy systems, and equipped with 5-meter-high tanks.
