The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) has launched its highly anticipated eighth project focusing on open-heart surgery and catheterization for children at Nabd Al-Hayat Center in Mukalla, Hadhramout Governorate’s capital. This initiative is part of the Second Saudi Voluntary Nabd Program, which specifically targets heart diseases and surgeries.
Scheduled to run from July 31 to August 5, 2023, the project boasts a dedicated team of 32 male and female doctors from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Their expertise will enable them to perform approximately 25 complex heart operations daily. Looking ahead, the program aims to reach a milestone of 5,000 heart operations at Nabd Al-Hayat Center in Mukalla, catering to patients from all across Yemen.
Dr. Ibrahim Al-Dosari, the representative of KSRelief, expressed his delight and the sentiment shared by the Saudi medical delegation towards inaugurating this eighth project in pediatric heart surgery. He extended his gratitude to the authorities in Hadhramout Governorate for their unwavering support and cooperation, facilitating the smooth operation of the medical staff.
It is worth mentioning that, in addition to the ongoing efforts, the project plans to conduct two heart operation campaigns each month, catering to both children and adults. Furthermore, the local medical staff at the center will carry out 40 operations per day, supporting the overall objective of providing comprehensive cardiac care to the region.
