The Emirates Red Crescent Authority has recently inaugurated an artesian water well project in Bran, an isolated village in Wadi Al-Ain, Hadhramout Governorate. The project aims to benefit more than 31,000 people, including residents of neighboring villages, by providing access to clean and potable water, thereby alleviating their suffering.
The artesian well, which was drilled in accordance with international standards, has a depth of 363 linear meters and was completed within a record time. The well is capable of producing water at a rate of 6 liters per second.
The implementation of this project reflects the ongoing commitment of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority to addressing the water crisis in remote areas and meeting the needs of residents in rural villages who suffer from water scarcity.
During the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Salem Saleh Bawazir, the Director General, praised the Emirates Red Crescent Authority’s continuous humanitarian efforts and interventions to meet the critical needs related to people’s lives and well-being. He emphasized the significance of the artesian well as a major source of clean and potable water for the residents of the village and neighboring areas.
As of mid-year 2023, the number of completed wells through the UAE project to secure the needs of residents in areas suffering from water scarcity has reached four, including this newly inaugurated artesian well.
