The United Nations Office for Services Projects (UNOPS) in Yemen announced that it is seeking to raise additional funds to maintain what has been implemented within the Urban Cities Development Program in a number of governorates under the influence of the recognized Yemeni government.

The representative of the office in Yemen-Aden, together with the Minister of Local Administration, in the recognized Yemeni government, and the governors of the governorates of Aden, Lahj, Taiz, Abyan, and Al-Dhalea, indicated that the additional funding may reach 120 million dollars, after previous pledges were only 50 million dollars.

For his part, Hussein Al-Aghbari, Minister of Local Administration, confirmed that the government is working to promote economic recovery in partnership with the United Nations Office for Project Services, by studying and implementing a package of infrastructure projects in a number of governorates.
