Under the patronage of Mr. Mabkhout bin Madhi, the Governor of Hadhramout Governorate, the Benevolence Coalition for Humanitarian Relief (BCHR) in Mukalla recently organized an informative workshop on an emergency response project for children affected by the conflict. The project, financially supported by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), aims to alleviate the impact of the conflict on children.
The workshop commenced with the opening remarks by Mr. Fahmi Badhawi, the Undersecretary for Youth Affairs in Hadhramout Governorate, who commended the collaborative efforts of UNICEF and the BCHR in mitigating the adverse effects of the conflict on children. He emphasized the need for all parties involved to work together to ensure the project’s success.
Dr. Fawzia Gharamah, the Director of the UNICEF office in Mukalla, expressed optimism for the project’s success and its ability to bring about sustainable improvements for children in the targeted areas.
Engineer Saleh Bamkhashab, the Projects Director at BCHR, highlighted the project’s significance in providing psychological support and facilitating the recovery of children impacted by the conflict. He emphasized the coalition’s inclusive approach, involving all relevant stakeholders to ensure the effectiveness of their initiatives.
Ms. Raeda Ruwaished, the project manager, then provided a comprehensive overview of the project’s objectives, activities, and the detailed implementation plan. The project specifically focuses on Hadhramout and Ma’rib governorates, encompassing the establishment of a community center dedicated to serving children, the creation of four child-friendly spaces, and the organization of awareness campaigns to address the violations faced by children.
