Within the program of the Psychosocial Support Center, at Al-Shahr General Hospital, funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), HUMAN ACCESS implemented breast cancer awareness activities in Hadhramout and Marib governorates, during which a number of women and girls attended. Such activities aim to increase awareness of risks of breast cancer and ways of prevention.

The awareness lecture, held in Wadi Hadramout in partnership with Al-Tomooh Al-Nahedh Association for the Rehabilitation of People with Disabilities, and the Hadhramout Foundation for Cancer Control, was titled “The Importance of Psychosocial Support for Breast Cancer Patients.” The lecture cast light on the struggle story of a breast cancer survivor, and a number of survivors were honored with souvenirs.

The awareness activities are organized on the occasion of the International Breast Cancer Awareness Month “Pink October”. Breast cancer affects the breast and appears in the milk ducts and glands. It is at the forefront of the types of cancers that affect women in the world, and preventive programs and awareness activities contribute to its reduction.
