General Supervisor of The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRP) met with a delegation from the World Food Program (WFP) led by (David Beasley) Executive Director of the Program. During the meeting, issues of common concern were discussed, and visions and experiences were shared to support efforts to move from relief to development and reconstruction in Yemen. The sides also discussed future joint collaborations that would contribute to achieving food security in Yemen.

WFP Executive, David Beasley, commended the work of The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen regarding development projects supporting water system and other projects within the framework of the program.

The delegation gave a visual presentation of The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen’s projects and initiatives, that are about 204 development projects and initiatives, implemented in various Yemeni governorates, in 7 key sectors: education, health, water, transport, agriculture and fisheries, capacity building of government institutions, in addition to development programs.

It is worth mentioning that the SDRPY’s  projects and initiatives in the education sector are about 41 projects and initiatives including schools and educational institutions and other projects, and about 22 various projects and initiatives in the health sector including hospitals and public and private medical centers, while number of projects and initiatives in the transport sector are about 36 projects and initiatives including roads , airports and various projects, moreover number of projects in the agricultural sector are about 18 projects and initiatives, in addition to the energy sector projects and initiatives, that are about 26 projects and initiatives, and 17 projects and initiatives in the capacity-building of government institutions sector, while in the water sector number of projects and initiatives are about 32 projects and initiatives, in order to strengthen water resources system in Yemen.
