In order to protect communities, the World Health Organization and health authorities with the support of the World Bank MENA launched a schistosomiasis vaccination campaign this week covering 40 districts in 9 governorates across Yemen; targeting 1,859,469 children and adolescents.

The World Health Organization announced a new vaccination campaign against schistosomiasis, targeting more than one million and 800 children and adolescents in Yemen. In a statement on Twitter, the organization said that it had launched, in cooperation with the health authorities, a campaign against schistosomiasis, which includes 40 districts in 9 governorates across Yemen. The campaign comes with the support of the World Bank and aims to protect local communities from schistosomiasis.
