King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) has partnered with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to launch a groundbreaking project aimed at supporting vulnerable communities in Yemen. With a focus on six districts across Aden, Hadhramout, and Lahj governorates, the project aims to benefit over 1,100 individuals.
Recognizing the devastating impact of the ongoing conflict in Yemen, the project seeks to empower local community institutions in their response to the crisis. This includes capacity building initiatives to enhance their ability to address conflict-related challenges. Moreover, the project aims to foster peacebuilding and social cohesion by establishing dedicated peace committees within the communities.
The project’s comprehensive approach also involves providing vocational training programs to individuals in need, equipping them with essential skills for sustainable livelihoods. Technical support and equipment provisions for small businesses further contribute to the empowerment of local economies. It is crucial to acknowledge that the conflict in Yemen has resulted in the internal displacement of approximately 4.5 million Yemenis, significantly impacting the social fabric of the nation.
