  • KSrelief Inaugurated the Marketing Exhibition for Household Products in Hadhramaut and Lahj Governorates

Khabar Khair (Only Good News)

Within the United Nations Development Programme’s (UNDP) Vocational and Business Skills Training and Support Project in Hadhramaut and Lahj, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) launched a marketing exhibition for household products in Tuban District, Lahj Governorate last Monday.

The female beneficiaries presented their tailoring, embroidery, and pastry making products. A number of local authority leaders and trainees were satisfied with the level of production quality as a positive result of the training provided.

The Director of Tuban District, Mohsen Ja’afar Al-Saqqaf, commended KSrelief’s support for such projects, because they contribute to alleviating poverty and creating job opportunities for young men and women. Moreover, families will continue to enjoy a lot of economic benefits from such projects, even after the end of the project.

KSrelief Branch Director in Aden Saleh Al-Thibani said that the exhibition plays a very significant role in developing community capabilities through sustainable development. He explained that the project comes in light of the center’s keenness to support humanitarian services provided to Yemen in various fields, with the aim of improving the living conditions of the needy.

Khadija Jawad Salem, a trainee in pastry making, confirmed that KSrelief’s support contributed to the launch of her commercial project, and that she is now able to expand her production after gaining the required professional skills.

It is worth mentioning that the US$ 3,000,000 project for Vocational and Business Skills Training and Support helps improve Yemeni livelihoods and access to productive services through provision of training and support in entrepreneurship, agro-business, food processing, textile manufacturing, and handloom, in addition to technical skills, including carpentry, maintenance of cars, cellphones and appliances. The project also provides the beneficiaries with in-kind grants to help them start their businesses.
