Last Saturday in Aden, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) concluded a training course for female teachers at the Vocational Rehabilitation Center for Persons with Disabilities on articulation and communication. It was implemented within the Response to the Needs of Local Capacity Development Project for Teaching Illiterate Students and Persons with Disabilities.

The three-day course included various exercises for the muscles of the face, jaws, lips, tongue, articulation, and breathing.

Osama BaKadi, Director of the Response to the Needs of Local Capacity Development Project for Teaching Illiterate Students and Persons with Disabilities, confirmed that the training program aimed to build the capacity of 323 male and female trainers in the governorates of Aden, Abyan and Hadramout, so that they can deal with people with special needs in their practical life.

Laila Bashmilah, Director of the Vocational Rehabilitation Center, explained that this course is the first of its kind, as it includes training all female specialists in the Vocational Rehabilitation Center as well as female teachers of the Institute of Blind People. They received much knowledge and learned many skills to teach children letters, sounds, pronunciation, and the mechanism of communication. The participants benefited a lot from this course, as it will help them to perform their duties in serving this important social group.
