Funded by the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF), Benevolence Coalition for Humanitarian Relief (BCHR) in Ma’rib governorate, central Yemen, launched the Integrated Pre-emptive Intervention Project. This project includes interventions to prevent damage caused by rain and floods, and is the first of its kind in the governorate.
The project aims to provide 3,100 families in Al-Wadi district in Marib with special tools to preserve food for displaced families, in addition to distributing 3,100 shelter bags in emergency cases, and distributing sandbags to 1,145 families to protect their homes from rainwater. The project also includes pumping stagnant water, sewage, and hygiene campaigns in targeted camps, in coordination with the Cleanliness and Improvement Fund in the governorate.
It is worth noting that the city of Marib is one of the Yemeni governorates that has witnessed a large influx of displaced people, estimated at more than 2 million, distributed in scattered camps according to official organizations and sources.
Humanitarian partners are working to provide the necessary support and alleviate their suffering, in cooperation with the relevant authorities.
