Al-Salam School recently organized a bazaar in the Al-Shamayatayn district of Taiz governorate to showcase local products and crafts. The initiative was funded by the German GIZ organization and sponsored by the Director General of Al-Shamayatayn district.
The project aimed to empower women, particularly those in the host community, marginalized groups, the displaced, and people with special needs. It provided training workshops that lasted for a month and five days, targeting 45 trainees. Twenty trainees were selected based on specific criteria and were granted professional bags.
The bazaar featured a variety of trades, including hairdressing, incense making, pastry making, and photography. The project manager, Haifa Amin, explained that the bazaar was established to promote and market the products made by women, thereby increasing their visibility in the markets.
Saeed Al-Rai, the Secretary General of Al-Shamayatayn District, expressed his support for the project and highlighted its potential economic and developmental benefits for the district. He emphasized the district’s commitment to supporting such initiatives.
