Khabar Khair (Only Good News)

In cooperation with the Department of Animal Health and Veterinary Quarantine at the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation and with the participation of 56 veterinary teams, the Agriculture and Irrigation Office in Al-Bayda Governorate implemented a veterinary campaign to immunize livestock against ovine rinderpest, sheep pox, and internal and external parasites.

The campaign is a part of the food security response project funded by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations “FAO”. The campaign aimed to vaccinate 670,000 goats and sheep in Al-Bayda’s districts, and to treat other diseases. The campaign included guidelines to enhance community awareness of the dangers of slaughtering female and young livestock.

Ahmed Al-Rassas, the Director of Al-Bayda City Directorate, praised the level of preparation and coordination for the implementation of this campaign. He also emphasized its importance in preserving livestock and protecting it from diseases.
