  • European Commission Grants Urgent Humanitarian Aid of €150,000 to Cyclone “Tej” Victims in Three Governorates

The European Commission has provided urgent humanitarian aid worth €150,000 to those affected by Cyclone Tej, which caused widespread destruction in three Yemeni governorates: Al-Mahrah, Socotra, and Hadhramout.
According to the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO), a department of the European Commission, this aid will support the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) emergency fund for disaster response, as well as the Yemeni Red Crescent, to provide shelter and hygiene supplies to 2,000 families, comprising 14,000 people, in the cyclone-affected governorates.
The Commission stated in its press release that the cyclone caused damage to more than 18,000 families, in addition to partial damage to homes and public facilities in Al-Mahrah, Socotra, and Hadhramout.
