The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) launched a project to support emergency and critical medical services in Al-Mahra Governorate by delivering 4 ambulances, in support of the capabilities of hospitals and health centers in the governorate.
The launch is part of SDRPY’s support for the health sector in Yemen with development projects and initiatives that have contributed to strengthening the sector’s capabilities and improving medical services provided to beneficiaries. This support includes establishing and equipping hospitals and health centers, rehabilitating and operating them, establishing and equipping specialized centers such as cardiac centers, dialysis centers, cancer treatment centers, and maternity and childhood centers, as well as operating rooms and intensive care units, in addition to projects and initiatives supporting emergency and critical medical cases.
The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen has provided development projects and initiatives in Al-Mahra Governorate, including the project to establish King Salman Medical and Educational City on an area of one million square meters. The city includes the establishment of a 110-bed hospital and equipping it with advanced medical equipment and devices. The hospital’s facilities include outpatient clinics, a fully equipped radiology department, a laboratory for all medical examinations, an endoscopy department, emergency departments, and intensive care units for adults and children, and women and childbirth. It will be a major supporter of important vital sectors in Yemen, and upon its completion, it will contribute to improving the quality of medical services and educational outcomes.
SDRPY’s projects and initiatives supporting the health sector in Al-Mahra Governorate include the establishment and equipping of a dialysis center at Al-Ghaydah Hospital and supporting it with 83 medical devices and equipment, and raising the efficiency of Al-Ghaydah Hospital’s operation in general by establishing and equipping an operating room and intensive care unit with 134 medical devices and equipment.
It is worth noting that the program has provided development projects and initiatives in 8 basic and vital sectors: education, health, water, energy, transportation, agriculture and fisheries, development and support of Yemeni government capabilities, and development programs, in various Yemeni governorates.
