Khabar Khair (Only Good News)
On Wednesday, October 26, the Social Welfare Fund in Sana’a Governorate concluded a training course in the field of protection, emergency response, disasters and psychological support for the protection, emergency and disasters team and for members of community committees in informal settlements in Sana’a Governorate. It was funded by UNICEF.
The course, which was held in the Social Welfare Fund building in Al-Rawda neighborhood in Sana’a governorate, targeted 45 participants from the targeted communities in Bilad Al-Rus, Hamdan, Bani Hushaysh, Al-Haymah Al-Kharijiyah, Sanhan, Khawlan, Bani Matar and Arhab.
The course, which ran from October 25-26, dealt with providing participants with skills, knowledge, security and safety information, the risks of chemicals, environmental pollution, methods of dealing with fires and various disasters, and how to prevent them. The course also involved the SPHERE Standards for Relief.
The training course was a part of the program and activities of the Integrated Model of Social and Economic Support and Empowerment Project “Community Participation Component”, implemented by the Social Welfare Fund, in coordination and cooperation with the Civil Defense Department, and the support of UNICEF.
