Selah Foundation for Development distributed tools and equipment to small-scale fishermen in Mukalla District last week as part of the Improving Food Security for Small-scale Fishermen Project, funded by Expertise France for the Design and Implementation of International Technical Cooperation Projects. 50 fish traps, 50 fish finders, and 50 traditional fishing equipment were delivered to 50 fishermen, who are members of the Cooperative Association of Fishermen in Mukalla District.

During the launch ceremony, the project manager initiated the distribution process. He gave the attendees an idea of the project and introduced them to the interventions and activities of the project in Hadhramout Governorate Districts. The ceremony was attended by the Undersecretary of Hadhramout Governorate for Technical Affairs, Amin Bazreq, and the Director General of the Planning and Development Department of the General Authority for Fisheries, Mr. Ali Bashmakh.

In addition, Mr. Saleh Babridah delivered the speech of the General Authority. He urged the fishermen to take advantage of the equipment, preserve it and learn how to use it properly. The Undersecretary of Hadhramout Governorate also praised the cooperation of Selah Foundation for Development with the local authorities in order to provide citizens with various services.
