The Emirates Red Crescent has launched a project to construct three water tanks, each with a capacity of 700 cubic meters, in the villages of Al-Ghurf, Al-Qariah, and Qism in the Tarim district of Hadhramout Governorate.
This initiative forms part of the humanitarian response initiated by the Emirates Red Crescent in the wake of the Yemeni crisis in 2015. It is also in line with the organization’s ongoing endeavors to establish sustainable water sources and cater to the needs of local communities.
The project caters to approximately 42,000 individuals, addressing the mounting water requirements in the region, optimizing distribution, and ensuring accessibility for the population.
Abdulhadi Al-Tamimi, the Assistant Undersecretary for Wadi and Desert Affairs in Hadhramout, has commended the Emirates Red Crescent for its commendable humanitarian initiatives and projects that bolster infrastructure, services, and relief efforts in Hadhramout and Yemen as a whole, with the aim of alleviating the suffering of citizens in the governorate.
