The head of the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology, Captain Saleh bin Nahid, made an inspection visit to Seiyun International Airport in Hadramout Governorate on Tuesday, as part of the Authority’s and the Ministry of Transport’s directives to improve the level of services in the country’s airports.

During the visit, Captain bin Nahid held a meeting with the leadership of Seiyun Airport, in which he discussed proposals for long-term development of the airport. These proposals included utilizing available spaces to build new facilities and increase the capacity of aircraft, increase air traffic between domestic and foreign airports, in addition to expanding commercial movement and air freight.

Captain bin Nahid emphasized the importance of starting technical studies for the project, taking into account the future needs of the airport and raising its international classification, and accommodating various types of aircraft, which positively reflects on the development of the commercial, economic and service sectors in Hadramout Governorate. He also stressed the need to coordinate with local authorities to ensure the best possible implementation of the project.

It is expected that these development plans will contribute to improving the services provided at Seiyun International Airport and enhancing its role as a main gateway to Hadramout Governorate.
