The Wojood Foundation for Human Security, in cooperation with the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung’s (FES) Yemen Office, organized a symposium last Saturday in Aden Governorate, entitled “The Economic Dimension of Implementing International Resolutions in Yemen in the Light of War Economy” within a series of symposiums on war economy and its impact on the peace process in Yemen.
During the symposium, three scientific papers were reviewed, the first entitled “International Resolutions and their Relationship to the Economic Aspect in accordance with the United Nations Charter presented by b Prof. Afra Khaled Al-Hariri; the second is entitled “International and Regional Humanitarian Aid in light of War Economy” by Mr. Ahmed Al-Jawi; the third is entitled “Arab Coalition Countries’ Measures to Pay Salaries in Hard Currency: problems and solutions in light of War Economy.
The working papers were discussed in detail by the participants. As there were valuable participations, the symposium came out with many significant and insightful recommendations that enhance the pressing role to reform the economic situation in Yemen and to get Yemen out of the current crisis in various fields, including ending the conflict and achieving peace, security, and stability, which all Yemenis aspire to, and accelerating the restoration of what was destroyed by the conflict, namely improving the living and economic situation.
