Khabar Khair (Only Good News)

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center’s (KSrelief) Masam Project, dedicated to clearing mines in Yemen, dismantled 857 mines in various regions of Yemen in the third week of April 2024. These include 75 anti-tank mines and 782 unexploded ordnances.

The project team cleared 148 unexploded ordnances in Aden Governorate, 164 unexploded ordnances in Al-Khawkhah District, Hodeidah Governorate, and 70 anti-tank mines, along with 418 unexploded ordnances in Ma’rib Governorate. In Taiz Governorate, 43 unexploded ordnances in the Al-Makha District, 5 anti-tank mines and 5 unexploded ordnances in the Dhubab District, and one unexploded ordnance in Al-Mandab District were removed. Additionally, the teams cleared three unexploded ordnances in Lahj Governorate’s Tuban district.

The total number of mines cleared in April has risen to 1,240, and the total number of mines removed since the project’s inception has now reached 437,616.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by KSrelief, is committed to clearing Yemeni lands of all mines that have tragically resulted in the loss of lives and injuries to innocent children, women, and the elderly.
