In an effort to address the critical need for clean water, Direct Aid’s Yemen Office has inaugurated the Ali Well (Al-Khabiya) water project. This initiative aims to ensure access to safe drinking water for 6,000 individuals residing in the Radhum District of Shabwa Governorate.

Mr. Ali Butti, the Regional Director of Direct Aid in Yemen, emphasized the organization’s commitment to upholding essential and life-saving services. He highlighted the detrimental consequences of water scarcity, including the spread of diseases and a higher mortality rate. By bridging this gap, Direct Aid strives to provide a sustainable solution through the provision of safe drinking water.

The water and construction projects officers at the Direct Aid Office elaborated on the Ali Well water project’s components. The project encompasses the installation of a solar-powered submersible pumping unit, complete with all necessary accessories. Additionally, it includes the supply and installation of pipes, along with specialized parts and accessories. Moreover, two manholes have been constructed, each equipped with two plastic tanks. These tanks boast a capacity of 2000 liters, with one designated for men and the other for women.
