  • Launching Prefabricated Classrooms in Lahj to Reengage Girls Who Have Discontinued Schooling

Khabar Khair (Only Good News)

In a joint effort between the Benevolence Coalition for Humanitarian Relief (BCHR) and The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), a significant initiative was launched to establish prefabricated classrooms and distribute school bags in Al-Musaimeer and Radfan Districts of Lahj Governorate.
The ultimate goal of this project is to provide education opportunities for girls who have unfortunately discontinued their schooling in Yemen. Generously funded by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) and operating under the supervision of the education offices in the respective districts, the project has specifically targeted three schools in Lahj Governorate. These schools are set to benefit from 10 ready-made classrooms and school bags in Al-Musaimeer and Radfan Disstricts. Moreover, the project aims to improve the educational environment at Ibn Al-Qayyim School in Radfan District by adding four classrooms.
During the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Mohammed Nasr Ghaleb, the representative of the local authority in Radfan District, expressed unwavering support for the project. He emphasized the local authority’s commitment to providing all necessary resources and support to ensure that girls are discouraged from dropping out of school and are actively engaged in the educational process.
This project holds great significance as it endeavors to reintegrate girls who have discontinued their education back into the schooling system, thus enhancing their opportunities for education and overall development. It is important to mention that this initiative aims to target seven governorates within Yemen.
