Khabar Khair (Only Good News)

With the generous funding provided by the United Nations Population Fund, beneficiaries of sewing, tailoring, and food industries courses in Mukalla, Hadhramout Governorate, were recently bestowed with economic empowerment bags. The initiative was undertaken by the Humanitarian Access Association as part of their “Safe Space for Women and Girls” project, aimed at providing protection and livelihood support.
A total of 23 battered women and girls, who are survivors of violence, had the privilege of benefiting from this empowerment initiative. Among them, 10 individuals were enrolled in the sewing and embroidery course, while the remaining 13 were part of the food industries course. These beneficiaries were chosen from both the first and second quarters of the current year, 2023.
During the distribution ceremony, Mohammed Al-Hidari, the Director of Public Relations for the Association, emphasized the significance of the “Safe Space for Women and Girls” program. He highlighted the numerous achievements resulting from its implementation.
Khaled Baaissa, the coordinator of the Protection and Livelihood Support Project, expressed his commitment to providing ongoing assistance and resources to the beneficiaries even after they have completed their training and empowerment. This dedication aims to ensure the sustainability of their work and foster real success stories.
