The international medical humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders (MSF) announced the completion of transferring all its medical services provided to mothers and children in the region to Mocha Public Hospital in Taiz Governorate, southwest Yemen.

In a series of tweets on its official account on the “X” platform yesterday, Tuesday, the organization stated: “Our teams have finished transferring the last of their medical activities from the field hospital to Mocha Public Hospital, after the completion of months-long renovation and rehabilitation work, in its commitment to continue providing essential and free healthcare for mothers and children in Mocha district and other areas.”

The organization added that its medical teams will start working fully from Mocha Hospital, including providing obstetric care, emergency and comprehensive newborn care, including natural and caesarean deliveries; pre- and postnatal care for mothers; maternal intensive care; and neonatal care.

Doctors Without Borders clarified that it provided essential medical care to 657 patients in the maternity department, and 269 children in the neonatal department, in addition to treating 813 others in the pediatric department, during the period between January and May 2024.
