The Yemen Individual Elite Chess Championship concluded on Friday evening. The championship served as a qualifier for the World Chess Olympiad, scheduled to be held in Hungary in September.

Organized by the General Chess Federation in coordination with the Shabwa Governorate Office of Youth and Sports, the championship saw the participation of 64 players from various governorates across Yemen and lasted for a week.

At the closing ceremony, the Chief Arbiter, International Arbiter Raid Al-Asbahi, announced the names of the top five winners: Khaled Walid Al-Amari, Mohammed Jamil, Abdu Al-Ba’dani, Mamdouh Abdulkarim, and Ayman Al-Halila.

The top three winners were honored with trophies, medals, and cash prizes. Additionally, certificates of appreciation were distributed to all participants in the championship.
