Funded by Kuwait, a residential village for orphans and widows was inaugurated in Taiz governorate today.
The residential village includes 50 residential buildings with a number of service facilities, including a school, bakery, craft workshop, clinic, and other facilities.
The First Undersecretary of Taiz Governorate Abdulqawi Al-Mekhlafi, appreciated the generous support provided by the State of Kuwait to the governorate, which culminated in the inauguration of the residential village.
For his part, Mahmoud Al-Siddiq, head of the Al-Noor Association that implemented the project, explained that the village is intended for orphans and widows. The apartments were distributed to a number of families who were selected according to clear and transparent criteria by a specialized committee.
Al-Siddiq added that the association will work on managing the residential village and developing the project. It will also provide services free of charge to support orphans.
The building and construction of Al-Salam Village continued for three years under difficult conditions due to the conflict and high prices.
