Funded by the EU and in cooperation with SOUL for Development, the UNDP concluded the training program on the National Guide to Security and Safety for departments of the Ministry of Education offices and schools on Sunday, April 16, 2023 in Mukalla, Hadhramout Governorate. The program falls under the strengthening local governance component of the education sector recovery.

At the end of the program, the Director General of the Office of the Ministry of Education in Hadhramout Coast, Amin Baabad, emphasized the importance of making the most of the training program by applying security and safety in our daily life.

The program will provide 60 schools with security and safety tools and first aid kits. It will also support them with office and school furniture to ensure the continued quality of the project in the educational sector. The program, which targeted the districts of Mukalla, Seiyun, Ghail Bawazir, Al-Shihr, Tarim, and Al-Qattan in Hadhramout, aims to build the capacity of the staff of education offices, education departments in the directorates, school administrations, and teachers in dealing with the security and safety guide, and the positive results it will reflect on the educational process and its recovery. 240 male and female teachers distributed over 12 training groups were trained in the program.
