  • Training Course on the Importance of Polio Vaccines Concludes in Aden

A training course for doctors on the importance of polio vaccination and other life-saving childhood vaccines concluded on Thursday in the temporary capital, Aden. The course was organized by the National Center for Health Education and Media in cooperation with UNICEF.

Over two days, 60 doctors from 41 districts across 9 governorates received knowledge and skills related to the polio situation, measles, and routine immunization in Yemen. They also gained a historical background on vaccines, their development, and composition from a scientific perspective.

Dr. Aref Al-Houshabi, Director General of the National Center for Health Education and Media, and Marwa Obaid, UNICEF’s Chief of Social and Behavior Change, urged the participants to apply the course outputs in their practical work, transfer knowledge to colleagues, and expand its reach to the surrounding community.
