The National Center for Health and Population Education and Media at the Ministry of Public Health and Population, in cooperation with UNICEF, organized a training course for health workers in Aden Governorate, on Saturday. The course focused on maternal and child health and the importance of vaccinations.
The course, which benefited 40 participants from the governorates of Aden, Abyan, and Lahj, aimed to strengthen the capabilities of health workers in the field of maternal and child health and provide them with important information about immunization and nutrition. It also addressed mechanisms for responding to rumors and changing incorrect societal behaviors. Additionally, the course covered the Life and Immunization Messages Guide, its schedule and importance, the tasks of health workers, and ways to prevent cholera.
Dr. Ishraq Al-Sabaei, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and General Supervisor of the National Center for Health and Population Education and Media, stressed the importance of changing wrong behaviors, raising awareness, and strengthening services related to maternal and child health, in an effort to reduce maternal and newborn deaths. She called on the participants to apply what they learned and disseminate it widely in their health facilities.
