A new center for treating cholera and acute watery diarrhea has opened at the 26 September Hospital in Al-Jafinah camp, Marib Governorate. Funded by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the facility boasts a 20-bed capacity.
This center aims to provide free treatment for acute watery diarrhea cases and manage confirmed cholera infections throughout all stages – from initial presentation and isolation to full recovery. This is the third such center established in the governorate, following the opening of two previous centers at Al-Huson Hospital in Al-Wadi District and the Emergency Hospital in Marib City.
The establishment of this center comes as part of ongoing efforts to combat the cholera epidemic and limit its spread, particularly as the governorate hosts over three million internally displaced persons (IDPs) from various parts of Yemen.
