While many Yemeni families are struggling with the effects of poverty, hunger, and conflict, devastating floods have swept in to exacerbate their suffering. However, in the midst of this crisis, the hands of generosity and giving have not been absent.

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the World Food Programme (WFP) have rushed to provide assistance to those affected through the UN Rapid Response Mechanism. By providing urgent assistance to the most affected families, strenuous efforts have been made to mitigate the impact of the devastating floods.

The assistance was not limited to providing ready-to-eat food, but also included hygiene kits and dignity kits, to provide support to more than 80,000 people in just 72 hours.

With heavy rains expected to continue during the month of September, there is an urgent need to join efforts and provide more financial support to scale up the emergency response.
