The International Committee of the Red Cross announced, on Thursday evening, the provision of food and shelter assistance to a thousand families affected by floods in Al Hudaydah Governorate, western Yemen.

The Red Cross office in Yemen stated, in a post on the X platform: “The recent torrential rains and floods in Al Hudaydah Governorate have resulted in civilian casualties and damage to their homes and property.”

The office added: “The International Committee of the Red Cross has provided food baskets and emergency shelter assistance to a thousand affected families, distributed by teams from the Yemen Red Crescent Society,” without providing further details.
