Engineer Ahmed Al-Harouri, Director General of the Public Authority for Seed Multiplication, launched the distribution of high-quality agricultural seeds to 100 farmers. This initiative is part of the Emergency Agricultural Productivity and Resilience Project funded by the World Bank Group.
This support aims to assist farmers and enhance their resilience in the face of challenges confronting the agricultural sector. Project officials emphasized the importance of improving food security and increasing local food production.
This project comes at a time when the agricultural sector is facing significant challenges due to the war, the effects of climate change, and natural disasters that have caused severe damage to agricultural lands.
It is noteworthy that the Emergency Agricultural Productivity and Resilience Project in Yemen targets four governorates: Lahj, Abyan, Al-Dhalea, and Taiz. It is being implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in cooperation with relevant authorities and funded by the World Bank Group.
