The national chess team player, Khalid Walid Al-Amari, achieved first place in the Port Said International Chess Championship organized by the Egyptian Chess Federation from September 16 to 23.
Al-Amari secured this position after scoring 8.5 points from 8 victories and one draw, adding 200 points to his international rating, which has now risen to 2100.
The championship also highlighted the brilliance of our national team player, Abdo Al-Baadani, who secured the ninth place, tying in points with players from seventh to thirteenth place. Additionally, our national team player, Mamdouh Faraa, entered the list of international ratings in classical chess with a rating of 1857.
The tournament, which consisted of nine rounds, saw participation from over 130 male and female players from various Arab countries, including more than 10 players with international titles.
