The Governor of Shabwa laid the foundation stone for the first solar power plant project in Shabwa Governorate, which will operate with a capacity of 53 megawatts, funded by the United Arab Emirates.

The project, which is being built on a total area of 600,000 square meters, includes a set of modern components and is located in the northwest of Ataq city. The plant includes more than 120,000 solar panels, in addition to an energy storage system, a transformer station, and a 19-kilometer transmission line.

This project represents an important step towards improving the energy situation in the governorate and reflects the importance of using modern renewable energy systems to meet the needs of the population and enhance sustainable development in the region.
