The local authority in Taiz Governorate inaugurated, on Wednesday, the car maintenance workshop at the Industrial Technical Institute in Al-Hoban, which was rehabilitated and developed through the “Strengthening Institutional and Economic Resilience in Yemen” (SIERY) project of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Yemen and through the Tamdeen Youth Foundation (TYF), with generous funding from the European Union.
The workshop is equipped with the latest educational devices that cover various aspects of car maintenance, including testing devices for gasoline and diesel engines, brake systems, suspension and electric steering in cars, and devices for checking fuel injection and exhaust gas systems, as well as advanced diagnostic devices and computers equipped with modern maintenance programs, in addition to providing training materials, user manuals and technical documents to support continuous learning, in addition to providing the Survey and Planning Department with the latest Total Station surveying device for the department’s needs.
Students will now be able to acquire modern practical skills in the field of car maintenance, thus increasing their chances of getting good jobs and contributing to meeting the needs of the labor market with qualified technical cadres.
