A Kuwaiti aid convoy consisting of 14 trucks loaded with food and relief supplies arrived in Yemen via Saudi Arabia on Friday. The convoy aims to provide assistance to those affected by the recent torrential rains and floods.

Director General of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), Abdul Rahman Al-Aoun, confirmed that this aid falls within the framework of the Society’s efforts to alleviate the suffering of those affected and provide for their basic needs.

Al-Aoun added that a field team from KRCS will be dispatched to Yemen to supervise the direct distribution of aid. The team will also follow up on the Society’s ongoing developmental projects in the fields of health, education, orphan care, and water projects, in cooperation with the Response Foundation for Humanitarian and Relief Works.

He pointed out that the Society has, over the past few days, distributed food baskets, hot meals, shelter kits, and personal hygiene supplies in the governorates of Marib and Hodeidah.

It is worth noting that this aid comes as part of a series of humanitarian initiatives provided by the State of Kuwait to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people under the current circumstances.
