Aden, Yemen – In a step towards alleviating the severe electricity crisis in Aden Governorate, a new solar power plant began operations today, Saturday, with a production capacity exceeding 100 megawatts.

The “Aden al-Ghad” newspaper quoted an official source in the Electricity Corporation stating that the plant has begun feeding power into the unified grid, which will significantly contribute to improving electricity supply in the governorate.

The source confirmed that the new plant has successfully supplied the grid with 100 megawatts, noting that it is scheduled to be officially inaugurated in the next two days.
